Deli Memories

I have many, many memories of my three years at Delaware and the many friends I made there. A very memorable day was when the Mustang cheerleaders did a demonstration in the Great Hall, and their pyramid was so tall that the cheerleader on top had her hands on the ceiling! I can't wait to see that beautiful room again. - Glenda Bell / Years in Deli: 1980-83 / Floor: 4 South

Delaware Hall - 1W specifically - was my home for my first year of University. It quite possibly has the best location on campus for a residence, and our cafeteria had a wonderful view of the river - although quite often we were too wrapped up in our discussions to appreciate it.

The close friendships I formed at Deli - with five amazing, supportive, talented and interesting women - have lasted for the over 20 years. Whether our friendship solidified due to my first experience with a coed bathroom, or the United Way Bake Sale we coordinated using the Delaware Kitchen, or the Deli Formal Ball, or all the small experiences in between, it is a global friendship that I know will last a lifetime.

Remember when Lynn's bed was frenched without her mattress. Someone dragged that to the passion pit (coed lounge). Her keys were dangling from the ceiling with the caption, "Forgot something?" - Brenda (Fisher) Dickie / Years in Deli: 1974-76 / Floor: 1 West

“Deli” is where I met my husband and developed life-long friendships. My husband and I lived across the hall from each other, and the close knit community made it easy for two small town kids to bond and eventually start dating. When married, we had our dorm room numbers engraved in our wedding bands. Deli is also where I met some of the best ladies of my life! Our memories include late night study sessions that were just excuses to procrastinate, nights out and rehashing the events the next morning. Today, we remain a close knit group, and enjoy revisiting memories of our amazing days at “Deli-X”.
