25 years of life and medical practice in regional Ontario

The first-of its-kind program immerses the School’s budding doctors in rural communities for a full week at the end of their first year. It’s a bright light in the desperate physician shortages faced by many regions in southwestern Ontario.

With the Province announcing it will be expanding medical education and residency spots at Western, starting this fall and rolling out over the next three years, the School will add 16 medical education spots and 22 residency training spots.
