- Bruce Ander, BESc'79, received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal on May 8. Ander was nominated for the award by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
- Lauren Hasegawa, BESc'13, co-developed Bridgit, a cloud-based smartphone application that helps contractors manage construction defects.
- Harold (Harry) Kim, BESc'84, was appointed a Regional Senior Vice-President and Business Leader, Environment for AECOM Canada.
- Dustan Peter, BESc’05, a Founder, President & CEO at TrinityTech Inc. was one of 75 finalists nominated for RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrants for 2014 award.

Eric You Fai Chung, BESc'77, MEng'78, and his spouse, Ruby Chung, BSc'78, made a generous gift committment of $100,000 to establish an endowment to support a full-time graduate student in Civil and Environmental Engineering, who shows research promise in the area of geotechnical or geo-environmental engineering.
Hayter Group, a plumbing, heating, geothermal and solar company based in southwestern Ontario, donated $1,000 to Sunstang to support the costs of building the car and partipating in the Formula Sun Grand Prix. (more)
