Dr. Les Kalman, DDS’99, was appointed Academic Lead, Continuing Dental Education at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.
Dr. Christie MacDonald, resident alumna, was celebrated by the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians for her exceptional leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Mona Orady, MD’01, has been appointed Vice President for The Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons.
Grace Parraga, MSc’86, was named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.
Sukhmeet Sachal, MPH’18, is leading a community outreach initiative that provides COVID-19 safety education at gurdwaras in Surrey, BC.
Dr. Ali Tassi, MClD’07, was appointed Assistant Dean, Postgraduate Dental Education at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.
Shawn Whitehead, PhD’05, was awarded a Premier Research Grant from the Alzheimer Foundation London and Middlesex.

In memoriam
|
Dr. Wesley Dunn, founding Dean of Dentistry, passed away on November 15 at the age of 96. His leadership led to the growth and success of the dental faculty and instilled an ongoing tradition of exceptional mentorship, community and enterprise.
Dr. Paul Harding, Professor Emeritus, passed away on September 28. He is considered the father of neonatal research in Canada and will be remembered for his dedication and leadership as a clinical researcher.
Dr. Jack McLister, DDS’75, passed away on October 10. He was a faculty member with Schulich Dentistry for close to four decades and will be remembered for his commitment to students and patients in the undergraduate clinic.
